HEDP is an organophosphonic acid-based scale and corrosion inhibitor. It is capable of forming stable complexes with multiple metal ions including iron, copper and zinc, and can dissolve oxides formed on metal surfaces.
The appearance is colorless or pale yellow transparent liquid.

Performance and Application

An organic phosphonic acid scale/corrosion inhibitor. Chelates metal ions (Fe, Cu, Zn), dissolves metal oxides. Effective up to 250°C, stable at high pH, resistant to hydrolysis and decomposition. Good chemical/chlorine resistance compared to other phosphonates. Forms stable chelates with Ca²+, providing scale inhibition and a threshold effect. Synergistic with other water treatment agents.

(1).Solid is high-purity, suitable for cold climates; also for electronics cleaning and daily chemicals.

(2).Used for scale/corrosion inhibition in cooling water, low/medium pressure boilers, oilfield water injection, and pipelines. Also used in textiles as a cleaner

Usage Method

Scale Inhibitor: 1-10 mg/L. Corrosion Inhibitor: 10-50 mg/L.

Cleaning Agent: 1000-2000 mg/L. Usually used with polycarboxylate dispersants. Determine dosage for other applications by testing.

 

Packaging and Storage

Liquid: Plastic drums, 30 kg or 250 kg. Solid: Plastic woven bag with PE liner, 25 kg net.

Store in a cool, ventilated area; keep dry. Shelf life: twelve months.

 

Safety and Protection

HEDP is acidic. Use proper personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
