Boiler Water Treatment Chemicals
Industrial boilers are used in process and industrial heating systems where hot water and steam are necessary. These boilers produce the heat required to boil water or produce steam. Although designed for challenging environments, these equipment require regular cleaning and periodic maintenance. Unlike commercial boilers, these boilers cannot be cleaned using regular detergents or chemicals. They are cleaned using special types of steam boiler treatment chemicals, such as phosphate and polyphosphate dispersants, tannins, lignosulfonates, nitrite, sodium sulfite, etc. These steam boiler cleaner chemicals help remove scale and corrosion, enable continuous heat exchange, and produce high-quality of steam. In addition to this, boilers are subjected to external water treatment, including softening, ion exchange, evaporation, deaeration, and chemical treatment.

Benefits of Using High-Quality Chemicals for Your Boiler
Treating your boiler with the right chemicals can be very beneficial.
Prevent Corrosion
Corrosion can occur if your water is not treated. Not only does corrosion shorten the life of your boiler, it also reduces its efficiency and forms holes in the metal, leading to leaks.
Treating your water correctly can help prevent corrosion from occurring.
Prevent Scale Buildup
Scale buildup can cause a host of problems, including reduced efficiency and burst pipes.
However, regular treatment can help prevent this from happening.
Prevent Thermal Shock
Just as electronic devices and general mechanical equipment can overheat, so can boilers. If you treat your water to reduce scale buildup and corrosion, you can reduce the risk of thermal shock.
Manage Water Quality
Adding specific chemicals to your boiler can also help manage water quality. These treatment chemicals can do the following:
Balance PH
Remove dissolved oxygen
Manage the minerals in your water
Extend Boiler Life
Regular maintenance with high-quality chemicals can be very beneficial in extending the life of your boiler and can reduce the costs associated with purchasing new parts or a new boiler.
Balancing PH
Chemical treatment is an effective way to balance the pH of the water in your boiler. This helps prevent the water from becoming too acidic and corroding metal parts within the boiler.
First, let’s talk about the types of chemicals used in boilers:
Water treatment chemicals are chemicals that are added to water in cooling towers, boilers, and other sources to help:
Eliminate harmful bacteria
Balance pH levels
Prevent corrosion & buildup
Common types of chemicals used in water treatment are as follows:
Chlorine
Hydrogen Peroxide
Calcium Oxide (lime)
Activated carbon
Sodium hydroxide
When it comes to choosing chemicals for boilers specifically, sodium hydroxide is one of the best options.

Essential Boiler Water Treatment Chemicals for Industrial Applications
Boiler systems are key in many industries and buildings. They need special water treatments to work well. Choosing the right chemicals is important for keeping water quality good and boilers lasting longer.
Heavy Industry Solutions
In places like factories, power plants, and mines, boilers face big challenges. They deal with lots of minerals, very high temperatures, and tough work. Chemicals like oxygen scavengers and corrosion inhibitors help stop scale, protect metal, and keep boilers safe.
Commercial Building Applications.
Buildings like offices and hospitals use boilers for heat and water. Keeping water clean is key to avoid problems like clogging and corrosion. Commercial treatments use chemicals like pH controllers and sludge conditioners for steady performance.
Boiler Descaling Procedure

Shut down boiler equipment.
Blow down while the pressure is still present in the boiler.
Drain and flush the boiler unit.
Close the steam valve.
Add in Scale Remover STSR
Circulate through the boiler drain or low point, then through the pressure relief valve or high point, and back into a vented container.
Repeat this process for 4-8 hours, depending on the volume of the boiler.
Open the steam valve.
Drain and flush the boiler, then refill and start up.
Depending on consideration factors, every boiler is different and may require additional or fewer steps for boiler descaling.
Chemical Solutions for Scale Prevention
Experts use various chemicals to fight scale and deposits. These include:
Scale control agents
These, like phosphonates and polyacrylates, stop scale from forming. They do this by blocking crystal growth and spreading out particles.
Dispersants
Dispersants keep solids and sludge from sticking together. This stops them from building up on boiler walls.
Chelating agents
Chelating agents, such as EDTA, bind to scale-causing ions. This makes it harder for them to form deposits.
Using the right mix of these chemicals helps your boiler work better. It also cuts down on the chance of breakdowns and makes your equipment last longer.
Manufacturing Process Of Boiler Descaling Agent
The boiler descaling agent is composed of the following components by weight: 30-40 parts of organic acid, 15-20 parts of ethanol, 5-10 parts of organic solvent, 8-12 parts of 8-hydroxyquinoline, 2-6 parts of corrosion inhibitor and 12-40 parts of deionized water. Its preparation process includes: S1, dissolving 8-hydroxyquinoline in ethanol solution to obtain 8-hydroxyquinoline ethanol solution; S2, mixing organic acid, organic solvent, deionized water and 8-hydroxyquinoline ethanol solution, adding corrosion inhibitor to obtain finished solution; S3, bottling and packaging the finished solution to obtain boiler descaling agent. The boiler descaling agent has fast descaling speed, good descaling effect, easy use, wide application range, can effectively remove scale, oil scale, rust scale, protect equipment after descaling, and extend the service life of equipment, and has simple preparation process, easy-to-obtain raw materials and low cost.
Things to Consider about Boiler Descaling
Before beginning boiler descaling procedures, it’s essential to consider how the boiler functions, scale, and equipment characteristics. First, analyze scale characteristics and deposit size to determine the descaling requirements necessary for removal, as well as capacity, and equipment materials.
Packing and Storage
It is packed in plastic barrels with a net weight of 25kg. It can also be packed in IBC barrels as required.
Storage for one year in a shady room and dry place.
Safety Protection
- Acidity. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Once contacted, flush with water.
