Performance and Application
- AA/AMPS has good chelating, threshold inhibition, and crystal distortion effects. It prevents scale formation, especially calcium carbonate. Chemically stable in water, not easily hydrolyzed. Effective corrosion inhibitor at higher concentrations.
- Used in circulating cooling water (power plants, refineries) and oilfield water injection systems to reduce corrosion/scale. Used as a chelating agent in textiles and metal surface treatment.
Solid form: crystalline powder, soluble, hygroscopic. Easy to transport/use, ideal for cold climates.

Usage Method
- Often compounded with other phosphonates, polycarboxylates for various cooling water systems.
- As scale inhibitor: 1-20 mg/L. As corrosion inhibitor: 20-60 mg/L.
Packaging and Storage
- Liquid: Plastic drums, 30 kg or 250 kg. Solid: Plastic woven bag with PE liner, 25 kg net.
- Store in a cool, ventilated area; keep dry and avoid sun exposure. Shelf life: ten months.
Safety and Protection
AA/AMPS is acidic. Use proper personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse immediately with
plenty of water.
